Young walker evacuated by stretcher after medical episode near Lose Hill
Edale Mountain Rescue Team said the rest of the walking group gave an accurate location and a clear account of what had happened.

A member of a young walking group was evacuated by stretcher after a medical episode near Lose Hill in the Peak District on Saturday 3 October 2026, Edale Mountain Rescue Team said.
Edale Mountain Rescue Team was called at 2.30pm to help a young walker who was having a medical episode, according to a post on its website.
The rest of the group stayed with the casualty and contacted mountain rescue. The team said the group "did exactly the right thing by keeping calm and contacting mountain rescue" and gave an accurate location and a brief on what had happened.
A team doctor assessed the walker at the scene. The casualty was then evacuated off the hill by stretcher and handed into the care of the ambulance service, the team said.

Edale Mountain Rescue Team operates in the Peak District National Park, covering parts of Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, according to its website. The team recorded 165 call-outs in 2025, according to the Mountain Rescue England and Wales annual review, and has logged 120 rescues so far in 2026, according to its website.
