Paraglider airlifted to hospital after Aran Mountains fall
Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team called in a coastguard helicopter to reach the casualty near Llyn y Fign before dark.

A paraglider was airlifted to Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, after being injured near Llyn y Fign in the Aran Mountains on Saturday 31 October 2026, Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team said.
Aberdyfi Search and Rescue Team was alerted on Saturday afternoon to reports of an injured paraglider in the Llyn y Fign area.
Because of the remote location, the nature of the injuries and the approach of darkness, the team asked for help from a HM Coastguard rescue helicopter at an early stage. The helicopter responded from St Athan while team members made their way towards the scene.
The casualty and a companion were airlifted directly to Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor. The team said the operation "highlights the importance of effective inter-agency cooperation in achieving the best outcome for casualties in remote mountain environments."
