Staying safe
Mountain Rescue England and Wales advises anyone heading into the hills to carry a fully charged phone, as signal can be unreliable and batteries can fade quickly. In an emergency, people should dial 999 or 112, ask for the police, then mountain rescue, and stay in place once they have given their location until contacted by the rescue team.
