A missing person search operation is currently underway near Rochester Bridge, as confirmed by a spokesperson from the coastguard.
The area has been sealed off, and pedestrians have been redirected. Emergency response teams from Sheppey, Medway, Sheerness, and Lydd have been deployed, including a coastguard helicopter and an inshore lifeboat.
Police officers and fire service crews are also in attendance.
