While enjoying a run a few miles east of Osmotherley, near Square Corner, the individual suffered a painful knee injury. Fortunately, the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team was quick to respond. With two team Land Rovers and several personal vehicles, they reached the injured runner, who was trying to make her way to the nearest road amidst the cold. Using the phone find system, the team pinpointed her location and provided immediate assistance.
According to the team’s statement, the runner was given warm clothing, pain relief medication, and was wrapped in a casualty bag with a warming pad. She was then safely transported on a wheeled rescue stretcher to a Land Rover and subsequently taken to a hospital in a family vehicle. The team’s dedication and swift action ensured her well-being, and they conveyed their wishes for her speedy recovery.
In a testament to their unwavering commitment, while returning to base, the team chanced upon a crash in Great Ayton. Without hesitation, they stopped to provide assistance until the North Yorkshire Police and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service arrived.
