Two climbers were rescued after getting lost descending from a route in the Borrowdale Fells.
The men called for help after topping out on the Corvus route on Raven Crag on Sunday and losing the path on the descent to Stonethwaite.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team was alerted about 9.25pm. The climbers informed rescuers they had been on Raven Crag, but didn’t know their exact position.
A team spokesperson said: “Further attempts at contacting them failed, including PhoneFind.
“A small team was gathered to go and search. Meanwhile one team member, who lives in Borrowdale, could see lights and heard calls so went to investigate.
“A couple of teachers staying in the Borrowdale valley also heard their shouts for help and got to the men just before the team member. They were led back down to the valley.”
The incident lasted one hour and involved nine Keswick MRT members.
