Arran MRT drone assists police search for missing person

The team said its drone searched stretches of coastline as part of a multi-agency search for a missing person.

Arran Mountain Rescue Team said its drone operators assisted Police Scotland in a multi-agency search for a missing person, in a post on X on Saturday 31 October 2026.

The team said its drone operators were called on to help Police Scotland search for a missing person as part of a wider, multi-agency operation.

According to the team, the drone was sent to cover sections of coastline that were difficult to search on foot. The team said in a post on X: "Our drone was deployed to search some awkward stretches of coastline, helping search challenging terrain."

The team did not give further detail on the outcome of the search. It said in the same post: "Our thoughts remain with everyone affected by this incident."

Staying safe
