A walker injured their ankle near Bwlch Tryfan on Saturday 17 October 2026 and called for help, Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation said.

The team said further contact with the casualty was not possible after the initial call, so a hasty party was sent to find them and assess the injury.

Once located, the injury was splinted using a walker's boot and the casualty was supported while walking, but the team said "this proved to be very slow so a stretcher party was deployed".

The stretcher party met the group above Llyn Bochlwyd. The casualty was packaged for a stretcher extraction and wheeled or sledged down to the roadside, where they were advised to self-present at hospital.

The callout lasted six hours and 11 minutes and involved 18 team members, according to the post.
