A 12-year-old boy named Kaicy Rakai Zelden Brown tragically passed away while on a family camping trip in mid Wales, an inquest has revealed. Kaicy was staying in a tent with his grandfather, David, in Powys on September 14th, while his uncle was in a nearby tent.

At approximately 11:00 BST, Kaicy’s uncle entered their tent and discovered the young boy unresponsive. Emergency services were immediately notified, but despite their efforts, they were unable to revive Kaicy.

The inquest, held at Pontypridd coroner’s court, also heard that an investigation is currently underway regarding the death of Kaicy’s grandfather, David, who hailed from Wokingham, Berkshire. However, the specific details surrounding his circumstances were not disclosed in court.

A post-mortem examination conducted at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital determined that further investigation into the cause of Kaicy’s death was necessary.

Coroner Graeme Hughes informed the family that additional toxicology tests, including those for carbon monoxide, would be required.

He assured them that the results would be shared as soon as they were obtained. In a heartfelt gesture, Coroner Hughes extended his deepest sympathies to the family for the tragic loss of both Kaicy and David.

The inquest into Kaicy’s passing has been postponed until a later date. This devastating incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of safety precautions and the fragility of life. Our thoughts and condolences go out to Kaicy’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
